1. Introduction
Noor Travels ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Noor Travels mobile application (the "App") and the website at noortravels.co.in (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and the choices you have regarding your information.
By using the App or the website, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account details: Your name, mobile phone number, and email address when you register.
- Booking information: Pickup and drop-off addresses, scheduled ride date and time, and special instructions.
- Payment information: We process payments through a third-party payment gateway. We do not store full card numbers or CVV codes on our servers.
- Customer support communications: Messages, feedback, or complaints you send to us.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Precise location data: We collect your device's GPS coordinates when you use the App — including your real-time location during a ride — to match you with nearby drivers, calculate fares, and track trip progress. Location access is required for core app functionality.
- Device information: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers (such as Android Advertising ID), and app version.
- Usage data: Log data including IP address, app features accessed, crash reports, and session timestamps.
- Trip history: Records of past bookings, routes taken, fares paid, and driver ratings.
2.3 Information From Third Parties
- Authentication data from Google Sign-In if you use that login method.
- OTP verification records from our SMS provider (MSG91) to confirm your phone number.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account.
- Match you with available drivers and facilitate ride bookings.
- Display real-time location of your driver on the map.
- Calculate fares and process payments.
- Send booking confirmations, OTPs, and ride status notifications via SMS and push notifications.
- Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries.
- Investigate and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms & Conditions.
- Improve the App through analytics and crash reporting.
- Comply with applicable laws and legal obligations.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described below:
4.1 With Drivers
When you book a ride, we share your name, pickup location, destination, and contact number with the assigned driver so they can complete your trip.
4.2 With Service Providers
- Firebase (Google LLC): We use Firebase for authentication, real-time database, cloud storage, and crash analytics. Firebase processes data on servers that may be located outside India. See Firebase Privacy Policy.
- MSG91: We use MSG91 to send OTP and transactional SMS messages to your registered phone number. See MSG91 Privacy Policy.
- Payment Gateway: Payment transactions are processed through our third-party payment processor. We transmit only the minimum data necessary for payment processing and do not store sensitive card details.
- Google Maps: We use the Google Maps SDK to display maps and geocode addresses within the App. See Google Privacy Policy.
4.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
4.4 Business Transfer
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our business, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. Trip history and transaction records are retained for up to 5 years to comply with financial and legal obligations under Indian law. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 7).
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), Firebase security rules, and restricted access to production systems.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion: Request that we delete your account and personal data, subject to legal retention obligations. To request account deletion, email us at ameen@noortravels.co.in with subject line "Account Deletion Request".
- Withdraw consent: You may revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings. Note that disabling location access will prevent core ride-booking features from functioning.
- Grievance redressal: If you are a resident of India, you may raise a grievance with our designated Grievance Officer (see Section 10).
We will respond to all requests within 30 days.
8. Children's Privacy
The Noor Travels Service is not intended for use by persons under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
9. International Data Transfers
Some of our service providers (including Firebase/Google) operate servers outside India. By using the Service, you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in countries outside your country of residence, which may have different data protection laws.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you through the App or by email. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
